Views: From January to September 2022, China's pharmaceutical product trade volume reached US$171.523 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 1.94%. Among this, import value was US$69.743 billion, a year-on-year increase of 8.15%, while export value was US$101.78 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 7.83%. The decline in exports of epidemic prevention materials such as masks was the main factor driving the drop in overall exports. However, among Western medicine products, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and pharmaceutical formulations continued to see relatively fast export growth, indicating that China's position in the global pharmaceutical supply chain continues to strengthen. The long-term growth trend in China's import and export trade of pharmaceutical and healthcare products remains unchanged.
