Professor Choi Sung-wook stated: "First, I am very pleased to visit Shenyang Pharmaceutical University, a top-tier pharmaceutical university in China. Shenyang Pharmaceutical University's reputation is well-known in Korea, recognized for its outstanding pharmaceutical research capabilities and for cultivating many excellent students. The Catholic University of Korea, founded in 1855, is a private university within the Korean Catholic system. In addition to the Department of Biomedical and Chemical Engineering, where I belong, the university also has a College of Pharmacy and eight affiliated general hospitals, including Seoul St. Mary's Hospital. Recently, in line with globalization trends, many Chinese students have come to study at our university. I understand that Shenyang Pharmaceutical University has previously conducted research in Korea with several universities and companies. If given the opportunity, I hope that Shenyang Pharmaceutical University and The Catholic University of Korea can jointly promote student exchange programs and collaborate on development seminars. I would like to propose to our university and Shenyang Pharmaceutical University the establishment of an industry-academia cooperation ecosystem involving Shenyang Pharmaceutical University, Dasan Pharmaceutical, and The Catholic University of Korea, aiming to become a hub for new drug development, and I will do my utmost to support this."
Following his remarks, Professor Choi Sung-wook offered valuable insights on academic exchanges between pharmaceutical universities in China and Korea.
